About Anne Grisham-Pleas

Anne Grisham-Pleas, MC, LMHC, SUDP

Hi, I’m Anne Grisham-Pleas, founder of Stillpoint Therapy Services. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Substance Use Disorder Professional with over 30 years of experience working alongside adults on their healing journeys. I specialize in trauma recovery, substance use treatment, and supporting those facing anxiety, depression, and emotional distress.

Therapy, for me, is about creating a sacred and supportive space where you feel safe enough to explore your pain and strong enough to begin releasing it. Whether you’re struggling with the effects of trauma, navigating the challenges of recovery, or searching for more peace and purpose in your life, I’m here to help you find your way forward with compassion and care.

Clients often tell me they feel deeply seen, heard, and respected in our work together. I bring not only decades of clinical expertise but also an unwavering belief in your ability to heal and grow. We will work together to uncover the patterns that no longer serve you and help you build a life grounded in clarity, freedom, and emotional balance.

Professional background

As a therapist in private practice and a clinician supporting adults in relapse prevention, intensive outpatient, and co-occurring programs, I’ve had the honor of working with adults from diverse backgrounds. My early career was shaped by hands-on experience in substance use recovery centers, where I developed a deep respect for the complexity of addiction and the courage it takes to face it.

For the past three decades, I’ve focused on helping individuals with co-occurring disorders—those navigating both mental health challenges and substance use—build sustainable recovery. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing from trauma, addiction, and emotional pain is possible when we treat the whole person, not just the symptoms.

I am a certified trauma therapist, and I am also trained in  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which I use to help clients process trauma safely and effectively. In addition to EMDR, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and other evidence-based modalities. Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, or long-standing patterns of codependency, we’ll work together to develop tools that are both practical and transformative.

Therapy tailored to your needs

I offer therapy for adults aged 18 and up in a private, peaceful setting designed to support deep emotional work. My clients come to me for many reasons—some are struggling with current stress, while others are ready to finally face the long-term effects of trauma or substance use.

What they all share is a desire to feel better, to understand themselves more fully, and to live with greater ease and intention. Together, we will:

  • Identify limiting beliefs and patterns that keep you stuck

  • Work through trauma and distress using EMDR and other proven approaches

  • Learn practical skills to manage anxiety, depression, or emotional reactivity

  • Build a stronger connection to yourself and your values

My goal is not just to help you feel better now, but to support lasting, meaningful change. I see therapy as a collaborative process, and I will meet you with both warmth and clarity as we do this important work together.
